The Mansarovar
The lake is an inseparable part of Kailash Mansarovar. It is a large freshwater lake situated in Tibet ( china ) and is a pilgrimage holding religious importance for Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. The lake is located at the southern foot of Mount Kailash, stretching up to 55mils ( 88 kms ) in perimeter it goes 330 feet deep and abound about 120sq mi ) of totai area.
Lake Mansarovar has exceptional beauty that varies from crystal clear blue water near the shores and a deep emerald green colour at the center. There are a few monasteries on the shore of the lake and most striking of all is the ancient Chiu Gompa Monastery, which has been built right onto a steep hill.
Mansarovar is considered as one of the Holy places as the legends say that the lake is a bathing place for gods during Brahma Muhurta. According to Hindu beliefs, the lake was first created in the mind of Lord Brahma and so is named Mansarovar, as the name suggests, is a combination of two Sanskrit words ; mans means mind, and ‘intellect’ and Sarovar means ‘ lake ‘. It is believed that at Kailash Mansarovar the lords reside and meditate. The reason why Mansarovar cannot be everywhere is because of the aura of the place. Holy lake Mansarovar is compared with the mind of Lords which is as calm as strong and tranquil as a mountain.
As per the Hindu mythology it is believed, Lake Mansarovar was formed by Lord Brahma, who is the creator god. He found it to be an appropriate place for religious rituals. Hid 12 sons, who were also holy men performed rituals and austerities on the dry land at the site. And to give them a more appropriate place to earn value, Lord Brahma created a wonderful lake which today is known as Lake Mansarovar. And as per Buddhist religion they relate Mansarovar with Anotatta Lake. It is said that Lord Buddha was conceived at this very lake, as stated in the legends Lord Buddha’s mother was brought on the lake by the gods and as she bathed in the sacred water of Mansarovar her body was purified. Later she saw a white elephant running to her from Mount Kailash and Lord Buddha entered her womb.
Also known as parvati sarovar, Gauri kund is dedicated to Goddess parvati. This scenic lake is located in the vicinity of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake. It is belived to be a place were Goddess parvati acquired Lord Ganesha. Climate —- In fact, it is usually chilly during the night and warm during the day at Mount Kailash. The Annual average temperature in Ngari around 0°c meanwhile during the day the temperature greatly. Therefore, people here are seen wearing light clothing during the day and heavy clothing during the night .
How to reach — one can go only through the government chosen route and Join the pilgrimage conducted by the kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam ( Indian Territory ) and Tourist co. Of Ali ( in Tibet ), from June to September, after completing all formalities. However, the yatra has been closed due to pandemic. By air reach kathmandu and further by road to Lake Mansarovar. Land cruisers then lake one to Mansarovar via Lhasa to Mount Lailash.
